Bulgaria's advertising strategy as a tourism destination for 2010 will be
fully revised, deputy minister of economy, energy and tourism Ivo Marinov said.
Only the most efficient promotion channels will be chosen. Participation in
exhibitions will be reduced and Bulgaria will be advertised as a year-round
destination, offering spa, cultural and historical tourism in addition to skiing
and sea.
Last year the state financed participation in tourism exchanges where only a
couple of companies took part, Marinov pointed out. The government will
determine the strategically important exhibitions. The space of the Bulgarian
stands will be reduced and local companies will be hired to mount them, because
that will save money, he added.
